| Ridgewood is a unique community of almost 6 square miles and over 24,000 residents in northwest Bergen County. After 1893 when the present railroad station was established, wealthy New Yorkers looking for summer recreation built summer homes in the town and eventually became full-time residents. That trend has continued to this day with many village residents continuing to work in NYC. Bus lines provide access to New York City going to either the Port Authority Bus Terminal or the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal. Commute time is an hour or less. The GWB also gives access to Manhattan by car. And of course, the railroad gives a fast, comfortable commute that will soon go provide access to Penn Station and all of mid-town as well as the existing Path connection to lower Manhattan. The school system consistently ranks at or near the top of all similar school systems in the state. |
